JOHN
R. MALKINSON is a founding member
of Malkinson & Halpern, P.C. and has been
a licensed attorney since 1983. As a member of
the Illinois and federal trial bar, he concentrates
his practice in the areas of complex litigation,
including substantial catastrophic injury litigation,
interstate trucking accidents, wrongful death,
medical malpractice, business contract, price-fixing,
and whistleblower cases.
Mr. Malkinson has extensive litigation experience
in an array of contested disputes in his practice
areas. He has participated in the prosecution
of price-fixing cases that have returned millions
of dollars to United States' businesses victimized
by national and international cartels. A list

As an appellate lawyer, Mr. Malkinson has successfully
argued issues of first impression in Illinois,
and has prosecuted cases in the Illinois Appellate
Court, and the Illinois Supreme Court, and the
United States Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
He has worked as a mediator in his own right,
has tried a variety of jury cases to verdict,
and has lectured on legal issues to several
civic groups and professional organizations.
Mr. Malkinson has been selected by his peers
as an Illinois Super Lawyer for three consecutive
years.

ALLISON
L.CHAPLICK was admitted to the
bar in 2000 and practices in the areas of employment
discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliatory
discharge, and personal injury. Ms. Chaplick is
a trial court practitioner and regularly appears
in, and has successfully represented litigants
in, the State courts of Illinois, the Federal
District Court for the Northern District of Illinois,
the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and
the Illinois Department of Human Rights. She has
co-authored various seminar presentations in the
field of Employment Law.
SETH R.
HALPERN is a graduate of Northwestern
University and The Ohio State University College
of Law and was admitted to the bar in 1988. He
has practiced primarily in the areas of civil
litigation, including employment discrimination,
commercial litigation, medical and professional
malpractice, and certain personal injury matters.
Initially concentrating on representation of plaintiffs,
he now also acts as defense counsel on behalf
of business interests including closely held corporations,
limited partnerships, and individuals in claims
involving wrongful employment termination, sexual
harassment, age, disability, and race discrimination,
contracts, leases, liens, and the Uniform Commercial
Code. Mr. Halpern presently heads the firm's Employment
Law practice, and has achieved successful verdicts
in multiple jury and bench trials and has appeared
numerous times before the U.S. District Courts
in Illinois and Indiana, various Illinois state
courts, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission,
U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
and U.S. Department of Labor.
By invitation, Mr. Halpern has lectured for
the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois
Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Business
21 and the Illinois State Bar Association on
employment discrimination and retaliation issues,
sexual harassment, and the Family and Medical
Leave Act. Mr. Halpern has been chosen by his
peers as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” representing
the top 5% of all practicing attorneys in the
state for each of the last three years.
